When we are working on a big roof, it's not uncommon to have 20+ workers on the roof on the days we are doing a roof demolition. Once the demo is done, we bring in the skilled carpenters and roofers to finish it off.
In roofing, there are not a ton of surprises other than rotted wood and joists when we rip an old roof off. When the old layers of the roof are pealed away and disposed of, you will be able to see the original roof deck of your building. Depending on the condition of the roof, the deck will be in various conditions. The conditions will range from a healthy, solid roof, with no wood rot. Or you could have a roof that was letting in water causing the roof wood/joists to rot. When this occurs, we need to assess the scope to repair the damage so the roof will be as good as new.
Three teams. The demolition team who ripps the old roof layers off. The carpenters who repair the rotted wood areas. The roofers who apply the base and new roof to your building.
Your job will have one site manager who will be corresponding with the property owner regarding the progress of the project.
Don't worry. We do not start your project until we have a clear patch in the weather. When we have an opening, we come in and hit it hard!
It all depends on the size and scope. But once we look at the job, we are very accurate at predicting the timeframe.
